For a large part of the time that I have been involved with Progress (since 1986) and with the PEG (later), I have been aware of and often spoken with Mr. Charles Atkinson. Speaking to Charles was at the same time like speaking to a friend and to a professional with the interests of his clients and the programmers foremost in his approach to placement. Time was not a problem and he seemed to make time to know more about the person he was speaking to. He could set you at ease as well as assure you that you were important as a person and not just someone that he wanted to place with a client. Charles' career lasted long enough so that he also worked with my daughter when she was programming in progress, and she, as well as I, was impressed with his professionalism and efforts on her behalf. What a nice man. We will miss his voice on the earth. |
